Belt of Venus and Volcanoes

The pinkish Belt of Venus twilight glow is here above the dark blue band of Earth’s shadow, all behind the mountainscape of the Andes and the conical peak of Licancabur Volcano, 5900 metres high. This was with the Canon 7D camera and 50mm Sigma lens. Colour saturation has been increased to bring out the colour contrast. Taken from Atacama Lodge, San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, May 2011.
