Orion and the northern winter sky rising behind the main house at the Painted Pony Resort in New Mexico, Dec 7, 2013, with light from the waxing crescent Moon providing illumination. The Belt of Orion points down to Sirius in Canis Major just coming up. The sky is discoloured green and red from bands of airglow. This is a stack of 2 x 40 second exposures, tracked, with the 24mm lens at f/2.8 and Canon 5D MkII at ISO 1250.
