Orion rising behind the rock formations at City of Rocks State Park, New Mexico, with Comet Lovejoy (C/2014 Q2) appearing as a fuzzy green glow at upper right. The Full Moon is just off frame and glaring into the image at left. I shot this Sunday, Jan 4, 2015 on a very clear and transparent night. This is a single 10 second exposure, no tracking, at ISO 800 with the Canon 6D and 50mm Sigma lens at f/2.8.
