Sunset from Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park

Sunset at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, Alberta, with the Sweetgrass Hills of Montana on the southern horizon. This shot, taken just after sunset, shows the clouds lighting up as they catch the sunlight. The Milk River snakes below. The buildings at right are reconstructions of the original NWMP outpost from the late 1800s to guard against illegal whisky traders coming up “Police Coulee” from Montana to the south. This is a single frame of 700+ frames taken for a time-lapse movie, using the 10-22mm lens and Canon 7D camera.
