Aurota Over Dinosaur Park

Aurora over the badlands of Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta, on Sept 30, 2012. This was the day after the Full “Harvest” Moon which illuminates the landscape here – the Moon is off-camera to the right. This is looking north to Polaris, Big Dipper (at left) and Cassiopeia (at right). This is an 8-second exposure at ISO 800 with the Canon 5D MkII and 16-35mm lens at f/2.8. It is one frame of 330 shot for a time-lapse movie.
