Observing the Large Magellanic Cloud

Two observers check the charts and ponder the views of the Large Magellanic Cloud as they explore its many objects. This was taken at the Atacama Lodge, Chile, May 3, 2011. The observers are Philip Downey (standing, with iPan chart) and Gary Finley (seated at the eyepiece of an 18-inch telescope).
This was a 30-second exposure at f/2.8 with the 15mm lens and Canon 7D at ISO 3200.
